Frequently asked questions
Webodhi is an exam platform for PU colleges and coaching institutes in India. It turns old question papers into online tests with AI, keeps each college's questions in a private question bank, and runs online, OMR (paper) and offline LAN exams for KCET, JEE Main and NEET, with analytics and results exports after every test.
All questions
01Can Webodhi convert my old question papers into online tests?
Yes. Upload scans or PDFs and Webodhi's AI reads each question, solves it independently and compares its answer with the answer key. Disagreements are flagged so you choose the right one. It also crops diagrams, renders equations, and tags each question by subject, chapter and topic. Nothing is published until you confirm it.
02Does Webodhi come with a question bank?
Yes, two of them. Every paper you digitise and every question you write goes into your college's own private bank, which only your staff can see and which stays with you for later exams. Alongside it there is a ready-made bank for Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology. You can filter by chapter, topic, difficulty and question type, or show previous-year questions only.
03Can other colleges see the questions we add?
No. Questions you digitise or write are stored in your institute's private bank and are only visible to your own staff. They are never shown to or shared with other colleges, and they stay available for every future test you build.
04Do we need a server to run offline exams?
No, and no new hardware either. The Webodhi Exam Hub installs on any Windows PC you already have. Student devices on the same local network connect to it automatically, and results upload to Webodhi when the internet is available.
05What happens if a student's browser crashes during a test?
Answers are saved in the browser as the student works. When they reopen the test, their attempt is recovered, and retries after a network drop are submitted only once.
06What analytics does Webodhi give after a test?
Class average and attendance for each class, historical averages, topic-wise and difficulty-wise performance, and a report for every submission with accuracy, completion, time taken, question pacing and the chapters to review. Teachers also get a list of questions to reteach with the wrong option most students chose, and a "Check key" flag when the answer key may be wrong. Institution analytics add syllabus coverage and leaderboards.
07Can we customise the results export?
Yes. Choose from a results spreadsheet, detailed results workbook, subject-wise marksheet (PDF), subject-wise marks list, attendance sheet or a ZIP of individual student reports. Select departments and classes, choose one combined sheet or a sheet per class, and preview the file before downloading.
08Does Webodhi support KCET, JEE Main and NEET?
Yes. Each has its own exam-pattern preset, questions are tagged chapter by chapter, JEE Main has an NTA-style exam screen, and the Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology banks cover NEET practice.
09Can we conduct paper-based exams too?
Yes. Export any test as a PDF question paper and answer key, and print Webodhi OMR answer sheets with your college name and scan them so paper and online results sit together.
10How much does Webodhi cost?
There are three plans, billed yearly. Starter: ₹2 per student per exam from a prepaid wallet, at least ₹10,000 a year, with no student limit. Pro, for up to 999 students: ₹100 per student a year for unlimited exams and the full question bank, billed for at least 150 students, so it starts at ₹15,000 a year. Campus, for 1,000 students or more: ₹100 per student a year, ₹90 above 1,000 students and ₹80 above 2,000, with priority phone support. Prices exclude 18% GST.
11How is Webodhi billed, and is there a free trial?
Pro and Campus are billed yearly and start with a 14-day free trial with 25 AI credits. Starter colleges pay from a prepaid wallet instead: the smallest top-up is ₹10,000, and the balance stays valid for 12 months.
12Does Webodhi check the answers, or just copy them?
It checks them. The AI solves every question on its own and compares its answer with the answer key and any mark on the paper. If they disagree, the question is flagged and the teacher chooses the right answer. Nothing is published until a teacher confirms it.
13Can Webodhi convert a PDF question paper into an online test?
Yes. Upload the PDF, pick the pages, and Webodhi's AI extracts each question with its options, answer, solution and diagrams, and tags it by chapter, topic and difficulty. After a teacher reviews the drafts, the questions can be used in an online test straight away.
14Does it work with photos of question papers taken on a phone?
Yes. Upload the photos as JPEG, PNG or WebP images. Straight, well-lit photos give the best results, and every question is reviewed before it is published.
15How much does it cost to digitise a question paper?
Each page of a paper counts as one AI page. Every plan includes some each year (1,000 on Starter, 10,000 on Pro, 20,000 on Campus); after that, extra pages cost ₹500 per 1,000 pages plus GST. Pages that produce no questions are free. Teachers on their own digitise their own papers free within fair use.
16Can other colleges see the questions we add to Webodhi?
No. Questions you digitise or write are stored in your institute's private bank and are only visible to your own staff.
17How many questions are in the Webodhi question bank?
The ready bank has 48,000+ questions for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, for KCET, JEE Main and NEET preparation.
18Which question types does Webodhi support?
Single correct, multiple correct (with partial marks), numerical and text answers.
19Can we print question papers from the bank?
Yes. Any test can be exported as a PDF question paper with an answer key, and the layout can be adjusted before printing.
20Does Webodhi have a JEE Main CBT-style exam interface?
Yes. Webodhi has an NTA-style JEE Main screen with the question palette and Mark for Review states, plus a JEE Main preset of 25 questions per subject, 180 minutes and +4/−1 marking.
21Can students take Webodhi tests on mobile phones?
Yes. Webodhi works on Android phones, iPhones, laptops and desktops, and can be installed like an app from the browser.
22What happens if the internet drops during an online test?
Answers keep saving on the student's device. When the connection returns the attempt continues, and the submission is accepted exactly once even if it is retried. For exams with no internet at all, use the Webodhi Exam Hub.
23How does Webodhi keep online exams fair?
Questions are shuffled per student, the exam runs in full screen with copy, paste and right-click blocked, and leaving the exam window on a laptop earns a strike.
24Do we need a server to run offline exams with Webodhi?
No. The Webodhi Exam Hub runs on any 64-bit Windows PC. Student devices on the same local network connect to it automatically.
25Do we need to buy any hardware for offline exams?
No. One ordinary Windows PC you already own runs the Exam Hub, your existing Wi-Fi or LAN connects the devices, and students use the phones, tablets or laptops you already have.
26Do students need internet during an offline exam?
No. Students need the Webodhi app installed beforehand; during the exam everything runs over the local network.
27How do offline exam results reach Webodhi?
The Exam Hub uploads results when the internet connection returns. Uploads can be retried safely; they never create duplicate results.
28Can offline and online exams use the same tests?
Yes. The same test from your question bank can be conducted online or over the campus network with the Exam Hub.
29Can we print OMR sheets from Webodhi?
Yes. Webodhi provides a 90-question OMR answer sheet (options A to D) that you can print one per page or three per A4 page.
30Do we need an OMR scanner machine?
No. Upload sheets scanned on a document scanner or photographed, as a PDF or as images, and Webodhi reads them.
31How much does OMR evaluation cost on Webodhi?
₹0.10 per sheet on the Starter plan, plus GST. Pro and Campus include unlimited OMR scans.
32Can we export exam results to Excel?
Yes. Webodhi offers six exports: a results spreadsheet, detailed results workbook, subject-wise marksheet (PDF), subject-wise marks list, attendance sheet and a ZIP of individual student reports.
33Does Webodhi rank students?
Yes. Each student profile shows rank in class, department and institution.
34How does Webodhi show which questions to reteach?
After each test it lists the questions below 50% correct, the topic of each, and the wrong option most students chose, so teachers know exactly which idea to go over again.
35Can Webodhi detect a wrong answer key?
Yes. When more students choose another option than the keyed answer, the question is flagged "Check key" so a teacher can verify the key before results are released.
36Can Webodhi create a test automatically from chosen chapters?
Yes. Choose the exam, chapters, topics and the easy, medium and hard split, and Webodhi builds the test from your college's questions, the ready bank or both.
37Can we combine several tests into one mock test?
Yes. Merge tests into one combined test; duplicate questions are removed and the time is added up.
38Can we hide results until the exam is over?
Yes. Results can be shown after each attempt, after the exam window closes, at a set time, or only when an admin releases them.
39Can students see our college name and logo in Webodhi?
Yes. Your college's name and logo appear on the exam screen, result cards and the installed app.
40Can we import students from Excel?
Yes. Upload an Excel sheet, preview the students, then import them and share logins over WhatsApp or SMS.
41Does Webodhi support the KCET exam pattern?
Yes. The KCET preset sets 60 questions per subject with 1 mark per correct answer and no negative marking.
42Can we use our previous KCET question papers in Webodhi?
Yes. Upload scans or PDFs of past papers and Webodhi's AI turns them into tagged questions in your private question bank.
43Can KCET mock tests run without internet?
Yes. With the Webodhi Exam Hub on a Windows PC, students take the test over the campus network and results upload later.
44Is Webodhi's JEE Main screen like the NTA CBT?
Yes. It has the NTA-style question palette and Mark for Review states.
45What marking does the JEE Main preset use?
+4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong answer, with 25 questions per subject and 180 minutes. Every setting can be changed.
46Does Webodhi have a NEET exam pattern?
Yes. The NEET preset has 45 Physics, 45 Chemistry and 90 Biology questions, 180 minutes and +4/−1 marking.
47Can NEET mock tests be conducted on OMR sheets?
Yes. Print Webodhi OMR sheets and upload the filled sheets for marking.

52Can a teacher use Webodhi without a college or institute?
Yes. Sign up on your own and you get a one-person workspace for digitising papers and creating tests, starting with a 7-day free trial with 15 free question credits. The Free plan stays free after the trial.
53Do my students take the test in Webodhi?
No. A teacher workspace is for making question papers: you export each test as a PDF with its answer key and conduct it your way. Colleges that want online, OMR or offline exams use the college plans.
54How much does Webodhi cost for a teacher?
Free covers digitising your own papers and making papers from your own questions; Webodhi bank questions cost ₹1 each, charged once. Subject plans include the bank: One Subject ₹499 a year, Three Subjects ₹999 a year, All Subjects ₹1,499 a year. Prices include GST.
55What happens when my credits run out?
Webodhi tells you before an export needs more question credits than you have. Buy credits or a subject plan and carry on; your own questions and anything you exported before stay free, and nothing else in your workspace stops.
56Do I lose my questions when a subject plan ends?
No. A Webodhi bank question you export stays yours: reuse it in any test, re-export or reprint at no cost, even after your subscription ends. Your own and digitised questions are never charged.
57Can AI convert a scanned question paper into an online test?
Yes. Tools like Webodhi use AI to read scanned papers, extract questions, options, answers and diagrams, and turn them into an online test after a teacher reviews them.
58Do I need to retype questions with diagrams and equations?
Not with Webodhi. Diagrams are cropped from the scan and equations are written as LaTeX automatically.
59Can you conduct an online exam without internet?
Yes, by serving the exam from a computer on the local network. The Webodhi Exam Hub does this from any 64-bit Windows PC.
60What network setup does an offline exam need?
Student devices and the hub on the same network, Wi-Fi client isolation turned off, and TCP port 8000 and mDNS (UDP port 5353) allowed.
61What is the best exam software for PU colleges in Karnataka?
Look for KCET support, offline exams for unreliable internet, OMR for paper tests and a private question bank. Webodhi was built for exactly this: it digitises old papers with AI and runs online, OMR and offline LAN exams for KCET, JEE Main and NEET.
62Which exam software works without internet in India?
Webodhi runs computer-based exams without internet through the Webodhi Exam Hub, a Windows program that serves the exam over the campus network and uploads results later.
63Why not use Google Forms for mock tests?
Form tools are designed for general surveys and quizzes. Colleges preparing students for KCET, JEE Main and NEET usually need exam-pattern marking, a syllabus-tagged question bank, offline and OMR exams, crash-proof attempts and rank analytics, which is what Webodhi provides.
64Is there a free trial?
Yes. Pro and Campus start with a 14-day free trial with 25 AI credits. Trial AI credits pay for digitising and are counted over the whole trial, not monthly. Starter needs no trial: there is no subscription, and you pay only for the exams you run. Teachers on their own start with a 7-day free trial with 15 free question credits.
65How are the plans billed?
Pro and Campus are billed yearly. Starter is paid from a prepaid wallet as you use it; the smallest top-up is ₹10,000.
